About the Retreat

Looking to restore and nourish yourself inside & out? Take some time off from the hustle & bustle of city life and press pause on the daily routine. It’s time to regain some calm and strength in your mind, body, and soul in a gorgeous setting. Indica Yoga invites you to a monthly Weekend Sadhana Retreat where you can focus on yourself and rejuvenate your body & mind through Yoga with mindful asana & pranayama practices, wisdom sessions from Yogasutras, Upanishads etc., nourishing sattvic food, tuning with nature, relaxation, and ample time to connect with your inner self.

The Details of the Retreat are as follows:

Date & timings: Starts on Saturday, 4th September, 12:00 pm noon and concludes on Sunday, 5th, September, 4:30 pm evening.

Venue: Ritambhara Retreat, No. 69, BMTC Layout, Adjacent to Kammasandra Village, Lakshmipura Hobli.

The Retreat, located just on the outskirts of Bangalore city, is a small beautiful space dedicated to Yoga & spiritual studies and practices in a simple and clean environment adjacent to a farm of its own. (scan the QR code for directions)

Retreat Fee: Rs. 3,500/- per person. The fees in inclusive of boarding, lodging and teaching. For Indica Yoga course participants Rs. 3,000/- INR per person for registrations before 25th August, 2021.

Accommodation: Only shared accommodation will be provided

Food: Simple sattvik food with fresh grown vegetables from the farm

Reaching the Retreat Venue: The venue is about 22 kms from Majestic Bus Stand and is accessible through Magadi Road and Tumkur Road preferably through own vehicles. The retreat center is very close to ‘Kamadhenu Kshetra’ – a highly popular Raghavendra Swamy temple in last few years. It would take about an hour to reach the retreat venue from the heart of the city. Participants have to make their own arrangements. If any assistance is required Indica Yoga Team will help.

Please Note:

  • Precaution and care are being taken keeping in mind the pandemic situation and health advisories. The venue is cleaned and sanitized. Sanitizers and other necessary aids and practices are put in place.
  • The participants are mandated to fill and submit the registration & Health Declaration Form prior to joining the retreat. (please note health declaration form is given along with the registration form itself)
  • All Participants have to reach the venue by Saturday morning before 12:00 pm itself as the sessions will be commencing from post lunch onwards.
  • No children below the age of 18 are allowed in the retreat.
  • Accommodation would be provided on a sharing basis. No individual rooms.
  • Please carry your own Yoga mats for hygiene purposes
  • No outside food is allowed or available.

Teachers

Dr. Vinayachandra Banavathy

Dr. Vinayachandra is the Director of Indica Yoga, a platform that offers authentic, immersive and transformative yoga experiences across the world. He holds a PhD on psychological insights in the Vedas from Pondicherry University, besides Masters’ in Sanskrit, English, Yogic Science and Applied Psychology. Vinayachandra is a dedicated teacher who travels across the world conducting courses, lectures and workshops on a unique blend of Yoga, Psychology and Sanskrit. His publications include a report on Standardization of Yoga Terminologies for WHO; a book co-edited with Dr. Anuradha Choudry titled ‘Perspectives on Indian Psychology’, published by Jain University Press, another book co-authored titled ‘Happiness: Indic Perspectives’, published by Development Foundation, besides a few articles, papers, booklets on Yoga, Indian Psychology, Culture and Spirituality.

Dr. Mayur V Kaku

Dr. Mayur V Kaku is the Consultant Brain & Spine Surgeon HCG Hospital, Bengaluru. He completed his Neurosurgery training at National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences (NIMHANS), Bangalore. He is expert in Minimally Invasive Brain and Spine surgery and has special interest in Endoscopic and Pediatric Neurosurgery. He is active member of Neurological Society of India (NSI), American Association of Neurological Surgeons (AANS) and is trained by World Federation of Neurosurgical Societies (WFNS) in Stereotactic Radiosurgery for Brain and Spine. He is practicing yoga for the last 20 years and is certified and practicing Yoga Therapist too.

Mr. Omkar. G

Omkar, with a background of Bachelors & Master’s degree in Yoga from the prestigious SVYASA Yoga University, has nearly 2 decades of experience in training and teaching Yoga. He is loved and respected by his students and clients for the gifts he brings to their professional and personal lives as a Yoga teacher, Therapist, Counsellor, Coach and a Stress management consultant. Omkar travels widely conducting workshops, seminars, retreats etc. on both philosophical and practical aspects of Yoga including meditation and guided relaxation.
