About the Session
The process of inner transformation is essential for a person to appreciate the deeper aspects of Yoga like samadhi. However, the current perception of Yoga equates it either to the outer aspects like Asana and pranayama or to the esoteric states of samadhi. Thus a very critical aspect of the practice is neglected. This presentation will focus on this aspect of inner transformation.
About the Speaker
Raghu Ananthanarayanan is a direct disciple of Yogacharya Krishnamacharya & TKV Desikachar. He has taught Yoga at the Krishnamachaarya Yoga Mandiram (KYM) for over a decade. He has also had the benefit of a long association with Prof. Pulin Garg and J. Krishnamurti. The central quest in Raghu’s work has been the enquiry: “how does a person become the best that they can be?” This seeking has taken him on a path where he has worked deeply with himself through many decades of Yoga sadhana, as well as intensive work with groups and organizations. This juxtaposition of inner and outer exploration has been invaluable in making his personal spiritual journey meaningful and pragmatic. Raghu has focused on delving into the deep knowledge available in the Yoga texts and making them meaningful in a contemporary context. He has innovated on teaching methods that deploy an experiential mode of learning to make the wisdom of the ancients accessible in a very personal way for the learner.
