Day 19 Session 03: A Talk On The Yoga Of Ramayana by Rangan Ramakrishnan

About the Session

This discourse reveals the characters of Ramayana like Rama, Sita and Hanuman as great Yoga masters and deals with the events of Ramayana as practical case studies of Patanjali's Yoga sutras. This also deals with Valmiki's influence in Patanjali and elucidates the consistent flow of the spirit of Yoga from Valmiki
(5000 BCE) to Patanjali (1000 BCE).

About the Speaker

Dr R. Rangan is a professor in SVYASA. His Phd is on a comparative study of effect of Gurukula and Modern school systems on cognitive variables. He published "The Ramayana of Valmiki" with the notes in 10 volumes. At present he is writing a commentary for the Vedas in Yogic perspective. Under his guidance 110 Ramayana study circles are conducted under the banner of WEBOLIM throughout the world. He runs two schools for the Vedas and Ramayana 1. Shrutiram Gurukulam 2. Sitalakshmi Gurukulam.

Dr. R. Rangan is the son of Sri Krishna Premi Swamigal (Sri Sri Anna)  who is one of the highly revered saints of the Bhakti tradition.
