Day 20 Session 02: A Practical Session On Yoga Nidra With Sound Meditation by Aarthi Padmanabhan

About the Practice Session

Yoga Nidra is a systematic way of inducing complete physical, mental and emotional relaxation. During the practice of yoga nidra one appears to be asleep, but the consciousness is functioning at a deeper level of awareness. Yoga nidra is often referred to as the psychic sleep or deep relaxation with inner awareness. In the raja yoga of Patanjali there is a state called pratyahara where the mind and mental awareness are disassociated from the sensory channels. Yoga nidra is one aspect of pratyahara which leads to higher states of consciousness. Infact, yoga nidra can be used for directing the mind to accomplish anything. If you know what you wish to achieve in life, sankalpa can be the creator of your destiny. The practice of yoga nidra enables one to achieve intuitions from the unconscious mind, One' true nature and integrity manifests enabling him to live a meaningful life in any environment. Although this practice is intended to offer relaxation, its ultimate purpose is to take you to a deeper state where you are completely united with your inner being. This session will lead you through a practice of Yoga Nidra.
