Our ways of being and behaving is often governed by unconscious patterns of the mind called as ‘Kleshas’. Patanjali offers Kriyayoga as one of the most effective tools in cleansing these patterns. Kriya Yoga is one of the most effective practices suggested in the Yogasutra text of Patanjali in order to overcome the Kleshas. It is presented right at the commencement of the second chapter – Sadhanapada. Many scholars opine that this is the unique contribution of Patanjali to the Yogic system and tradition.
